Trout Magnet Review

The trout magnet is a lure consisting of a jig head and soft plastic body combination. The jig head is a shad dart style head, weight of 1/64 ounces, and a long shank size 8 hook. The soft plastic body is a streamlined split tail grub. Combined weight 0.033 oz or 0.94 grams. Combined length of about an inch and a half.

It's marketed towards trout fishermen, but the lure will work for any predatory fish that eats bugs or minnows. Steady retrieve, vertical jigging, and drifted under a float are a few of the ways you can fish it. Lure excels in shallow creeks but can also be used in rivers and lakes. If you just want to fish deep water might want to consider switching the jig head for a heavier tungsten jig.

If you find yourself suffering from choice paralysis from the array of small jig heads on the market, just get this. This lure works for the majority of freshwater fishing applications. If you find yourself wanting to fish bait instead, the jig head works great for that as well.

The manufacturer recommends using 2 lb line in conjunction with this lure. 2 lb test will be best for maximum casting distance but 4 lb line works great too.
