Creme Mini Tails Review
The mini tail is a tube bait by Creme Lure. It is a soft plastic lure where the tentacle tails provide action as you jig it. It can be rigged on a hook or jig. This size of tube is good for crappie, panfish, and trout.
The overall length (including the tail) is 1 and 3/4 inches long. The length of the body is 3/4 of an inch. The diameter of the body is 1/4 of an inch. The overall weight of the lure is 0.025 ounces or 0.7 grams. The weight would be too light for even ultra-light spinning tackle, need to add weight (e.g. rigged on a jig)
The body of the tube is hollow like a traditional tube bait. This soft plastic pairs well with a jig in the ballpark of size 8 - 6. You can also nose hook it on a variety of hooks or rig through the body with a hook like an aberdeen.
This lure is well suited for shallow creek fishing. When fishing larger bodies of water, better suited for a more vertical presentation. Jigging off of a small boat or kayak or from a dock rigged on a suitable jighead into deeper water is a good option.
- Works in fresh and saltwater for a large variety of fish.
- Very economical, no worries if the lure gets snagged or ripped
- Being so light, you will need to provide additional weight to cast.
- Not the best steady retrieve lure, best to add some jigging motion to your retrieve.
