Strike King Mr Crappie Grub 2 inch Review


The grub 2 inch is a curly tail grub by Strike King, endorsed by Mr. Crappie. It is a soft plastic lure where the tail produces a wiggling action when you retrieve or jig it. It can be rigged on a hook or jig.

The overall length (including uncurled tail) is 1 and 14/16 or 1 and 7/8 inches. The length of the body is just slightly over an inch. The diameter of the body is 1/4 of an inch. The weight is 0.03 ounces or 0.93 grams. Not possible to cast this on spinning tackle without adding weight (e.g. rigged on a jig)

This size of curly tail grub is a good intermediate size. On the low end, it can catch larger panfish. On the higher end, bigger gamefish looking for a smaller target will hit as well.

Pros:
  • Works in fresh and saltwater for a large variety of fish.
  • Works great on a steady retrieve or jigged motion.

Cons:
  • Being so light, you will need to provide additional weight to cast.
