Curly Tail Grubs

different curly tail grubs on table

The original Curly Tail Grub (as we are familiar with today) is by Mister Twister. The concept of a curly tail was popularized by Mister Twister starting around 1973-1975. It is a soft plastic lure you can rig on a hook or jig head (or use as a trailer on some lures). Companies that make their own copies include: Creme Lure, Big Bite Baits, Z-Man, Gary Yamamoto, Berkley. Many companies also make molds for this design, so it is common to see small and local companies produce curly tail grubs.

The curly tail grub is effective with a ridiculous amount of fish species including but not limited to: largemouth bass, sunfish, crappie, flounder, cod, bluefish, striped bass, snook, red drum , sea trout, weakfish, carp, catfish, trout, yellow perch, walleye, white bass.

This lure also scales in size from micro finesse all the way to giant lures for the biggest of game fish. It also comes in just about any color combination you could desire.
