Rigged Jigs

Here at Fiscian, we use the term rigged jigs to refer to three common lure offerings:

  1. A soft bait pre-rigged on a jig.
  2. A soft bait with jig embedded inside it.
  3. Soft baits sold in conjunction with a jig.

We make this distinction because it can be harder than you might think to find a proper jig to pair with a given soft plastic. When looking for a jig you will have to consider:

  • The hook gap.
  • The shank length.
  • The keeper style.
  • The jig head style.
  • The overall weight of the jig.
  • If the wire size and strength are appropriate for the target species.

With this lure category they all come ready to fish. Sure, for some rigged jigs, you might need to rig the extra soft body yourself but it is still a big value add.
